Mdm. Yan Xiaoyan serves as Honorary President of Bank of Beijing, Chairman of Bank of Beijing Consumer Finance Company, counselor of Beijing Municipal Government, member of the Standing Committee of the 13th People’s Congress of Beijing, Chairman of Beijing Banking Association, Vice Director-General of Beijing Listed Companies Association, and member of Beijing “12th five-year” Financial Development & Planning Advisory Committee. She holds the title of Senior Economist, Master in Economics and Master in Management. She is also supervisor for Postgraduates and visiting professor of Central University of Finance and Economics, visiting professor of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and supervisor of Postdoctoral Research Station of Bank of Beijing. Mdm. Yan has worked in financial industry for over 40 years. In the past over 40 years, she successively took managerial positions in People’s Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Bank of Beijing. During her 17-year term of service as Vice President and President of Bank of Beijing, she played a leading role in digesting historical NPLs of RMB 6.7 billion and weathering tough challenges of global financial crisis in 2008. With her efforts, Bank of Beijing has maintained a leading position globally in term of asset quality, with its NPL ratio at 0.93% so far. Mdm. Yan developed Bank of Beijing from a small sized local bank with total assets of over RMB 20 billion and danger of bankruptcy at its early stage to a listed bank with total assets of over RMB 1.5 trillion and profit per capita of over RMB 1.5 million. With sharp market sensitivity and innovation spirit, Mdm. Yan took the lead to create and grow Bank of Beijing’s featured financial brands in service of SMEs and citizens, including “High-tech Finance”, “Culture Finance”, “Green Finance” and “People’s Livelihood Finance”. She promoted Bank of Beijing’s strategic transformation toward modern commercial banking services and businesses, such as investment banking, asset management and private banking, which has been highly welcomed by customers. She also pushed forward mixed operation of Bank of Beijing by establishing 4 subsidiaries successively, such as BOB-Cardiff Life Insurance Joint Venture, BOB Consumer Finance Company, BOB-Scotia Bank Asset Management Company and BOB Financial Leasing Company, which explored a path for mixed operation of medium and small sized banks in China. In recent years, Mdm. Yan received various honors including “National Outstanding Women Workers”, “Pioneers in China Financial Industry”, “Figures of the Year of China Banking Industry”, “Most Valuable CEO of China Listed Companies in 2012”, “Top 25 Most Influential Business Women of China in 2012”, “Top 10 Influential Figures in 30-year China Reform and Opening-up”, “Top 10 Outstanding Figures in China Economy”, “Leading Figures of China Self Innovation”, etc.
