Ozan Sonmez is an experienced entrepreneur, mentor and investor and is a certified facilitator with Angel Labs. He helped form and advise various angel groups and funds globally. His global efforts to build healthier entrepreneurial ecosystems and his passion for angel investing led him to become a lead instructor at Angel Labs to host education and training sessions all over the world. Ozan has spent most of his career in senior management positions in public and private companies and currently dedicates his career to strengthen and foster entrepreneurial ecosystems. He serves as a mentor to startups in leading accelerator programs around the world and is a regular guest lecturer at various universities & entrepreneurship centers speaking about venture investing. He previously served as Vice Director and Advisor of Graduate Business School and instructed “Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship”. He later worked with Angel Wings Ventures from the Netherlands. He was the Venture Solutions Coordinator at Ozyegin University Startup Accelerator in Istanbul until his relocation to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to King Abdullah University of Science and Technology to create & manage its Startup Accelerator. He is an active mentor & instructor with leading programs like MIT EF Arab, Arab Mobile App Challenge, Intel Business Challenge MENA, MIT GIST and Berkeley’s Global Social Ventures Competition. He was nominated & participated to the US State Department International Visitor Leaders “Social Change Makers” Program in 2013.
